Joni Mitchell, one of the legacy singer/songwriters from the ’60s, who helped to shape Rock music in its infancy, has recorded nineteen classic albums for five large scale labels. Her first four were recorded for Reprise Records before she signed with Asylum, releasing six for them. Her start with Reprise began in 1968 with Song To A Seagull and ended with the multi-platinum album, Blue, in 1972. Needless to say, her ascendant music continued with Asylum, Geffen, Hear, and another stint with Reprise Records.

On June 25, Rhino Records will release a Box set containing her first four albums – Song To A Seagull, Clouds, Ladies Of The Canyon, Blue. The box will be called The Reprise Albums (1968-1971), and will be issued in 4CD and 4LP boxed sets. All of these albums will be newly remastered for the release. “A Case Of You” remastered for 2021 can be heard below. The 4CD Box has been repositioned to release on July 2.

In addition to this set, there is a Record Store Day exclusive LP release planned that contributes to the Joni Mitchell Archives project. This LP set is labeled Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1968). It will contain 12 tracks, all pulled from the earlier released 5CD Box of the same title. The vinyl LP set is being limited to 15,000 copies and will be made available on June 12, also via Rhino Records.

  1. Who remastered the albums for this box, who cut the vinyl, and where will the vinyl be pressed? Thanks.
