Laurie Anderson entered into the consciousness of the world, especially the US and the UK, with the release of her 1982 gem, Big Science, from which “O Superman” sprung famously from. While it is that song that is still her touchstone for many, she released a string of brilliant albums that include The Ugly One With The Jewels (a personal favorite) from 1995. In 2022, Big Science will officially be 40 years old. And with that will be some great news. The first is:
On April 9, Nonesuch Records will reissue Big Science in a collectible 140g-weight red-color vinyl LP. It will feature the 2007 remaster of the reissued 25th Anniversary expanded enhanced CD which delivered the bonuses of a video clip of “O Superman”, and an audio track of “Walk The Dog”.
The second?:
Now that fans are getting a nice red vinyl LP of Big Science, Laurie Anderson has teased on her Facebook post of Feb 23 that more for Big Science is coming soon. If I have to guess (and I do) we’re in line for a 40th Anniversary CD set of Big Science.
Stay aware of that bit of a tease. And perhaps we’ll see more reissues as the clock advances toward 40th Anniversaries of her subsequent releases.
