Ultravox Celebrate 40th Anniversary of Vienna With 5CD/DVD Box, 2LP and 4LP Sets

In some faraway post of TAP, a mention of an upcoming Steven Wilson remix of the Ultravox 1980 classic, Vienna was in a future pipeline. Well, here we are. With the arrival of Midge Ure from Visage, Vienna churned out four singles, including the beloved title track, Vienna achieved Platinum sales in the UK. Even so, Vienna charted well in other countries although the US held an arm’s length relationship with it. (Why? I don’t know.)

On October 9, Ultravox will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the classic album with an attention-grabbing multi-disc box that will do the album a good turn for fans.

A 5CD/1DVD Box is the shining star for Vienna. It will include the original album 1980 analog master, a collection of B-sides, the Steven Wilson Stereo remix of the album, 12″ mixes, live tracks, rehearsal recordings, a complete 1980 live show, and the album in hi-resolution Stereo and 5,1 Surround mixes. A well-stocked 20-page book finishes the package along with 12″ art prints.

For those unimpressed with the massive box, there are half-speed mastered 180g-weight LPs sets (standard black, and clear vinyl) available as 2LP and 4LP packages.

For RSD 2020, Ultravox will also be releasing an exclusive 12″ vinyl edition of “Sleepwalk”. This 12″ vinyl will contain the new 2020 Steven Wilson remixes of “Sleepwalk” on the A-side, and “Waiting” on the B-side. Both are drawn from the above set.
