Starting this evening, MusicTAP is going to get you in the holiday weekend mood, remembering back to the days when “they still played music videos.”

The premise is simple. We’ll take the Top 10 of this date in music and count them down, and the dates don’t even have to be a part of the perceived “music video” era. Join us at 6 p.m. (ET)/5 p.m. (Central)/4 p.m. (Pacific) as we count down the top tracks of August 31, 1984. In the coming weeks, we hit the 1970s all the way to the 1990s. We hope you’ll meet us right here for it!

In the meantime, here is a selection of what you will find in the next few weeks.

David Bowie – Strangers When We Meet

The Cars – Magic

The Fixx – Saved By Zero

Yes – Tempus Fugit

Rush – The Big Money

Jackson Browne – Lawyers In Love

The New Pornographers – Crash Years

Journey – Separate Ways

Arctic Monkeys – I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor

Climax Blues Band – I Love You

The Alan Parsons Project – Don’t Answer Me
