With Christmas just around the corner (it’s actually true, y’know), one of Rock’s most revered guitarists has been thinking about it much longer than you or I have. That guy is Eric Clapton, who will release his next studio set (his 24th) as a full-fledged holiday effort. The new album is being called Happy Xmas. It will contain a collection of fourteen selections including a new original song.
On October 12, Eric Clapton will release Happy Xmas with an original cover art as drawn by EC himself. The original song will be the Clapton-penned “For Love On Christmas Day”. This song is planned to be the lead-off single for Happy Xmas, and will be featured in an upcoming video release.
If you ever wondered how traditional Christmas classics might sound with Eric Clapton as the artist, well you need wonder no longer.
Happy XMas will be released on CD, DD, and vinyl 2LP. The vinyl 2LP will be mastered for 45 RPM and pressed on two 180g-weight discs. Additionally, the DD will included with the purchase of the album.
