Well, here we are in August. And as much as I shouldn’t say it, Christmas is in arrival status. Therefore, my inbox begins to fill with Christmas related projects. Normally, I ignore them until around the middle to end of September. But since I’m a lifetime Herb Alpert fan, I’ll give this one a post.
On September 29, Herb Alpert will release his first Christmas album in 50 years. His previous one, Christmas Album, was issued in 1968. his new one is going to be called The Christmas Wish, and will be presented with Symphony and Choir. this new holiday set, with fifteen classic selections, was recorded in Hollywood at the Capitol Records Building. With not only Herb Alpert’s legendary trumpet in he recordings, there will be a ten-piece rhythm section, a 45-piece orchestra, and a 32-member choir to complement it all.
The Christmas Wish will be provided on CD, DD, and vinyl 2LP (with gatefold).
