Joe Jackson has lost no class and flavor over his thirty-six years of music that began with his overnight success, Look Sharp! (1979). With the new-wave sound of “Is She Really Going Out With Him?” on through to his jazz and cabaret-infused later albums that generated hits like “Steppin’ Out”, Joe Jackson proved that he was versatile.
With a new album on the horizon, Joe Jackson has released a single to support it. The new single, “A Little Smile” (can be heard below), goes a long way to let us know that the quality of Joe’s voice, and his ability to produce a classy song has not been compromised over these decades. There are two more singles from the album expected to roll out in the weeks before the actual release of the album. On September 4, watch for “The Blue Time”, and on September 18, listen for “Ode To Joy”.
On October 2, Sharp Practice Productions, distributed via Caroline Records, will release the new Joe Jackson album, Fast Forward. It will feature four sets of four tracks that were recorded in four different locations (New York, Amsterdam, Berlin, New Orleans). Each city set used different musicians for the sessions.
