Pegi Young is best known as the wife of Neil Young. But she has been a music contributor for years with her band known as The Survivors. With the release of her self-titled debut album in 2007, and her subsequent full-length releases (Foul Deeds – 2010, Bracing for Impact – 2011), she quickly set herself up as more than the back-up singer that she has been over the years prior to her professional career releases.
On October 28, New West Records will release the fourth album with Pegi Young, Lonely In A Crowded Room. This latest set is billed with her band, The Survivors. The new album will feature three cover tunes (“Ruler Of My Heart”, written by Allen Toussaint, popularized by Irma Thomas; “Lonely Women Make Good Lovers” – Spooner Oldham; “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely” – Jerry Ragovoy) among her own original compositions.
Lonely In A Crowded Room will be released on CD, DD, and vinyl LP (with a download card for the digital files).
Pegi Young is a serious musician with good chops, She should not be ignored.
