Rhino Records will be reissuing the important The Last Waltz from The Band in a 3LP, 180g vinyl edition come September 3. If you have this one on vinyl, it might behoove you to upgrade it with this likely short run.
Napalm Records have the new DevilDriver album, Winter Kills, coming on August 27 in several formats that include CD, CD/DVD Deluxe Edition (with two bonus songs), and vinyl 2LP (which will also include the two bonus tracks). The DVD in the CD/DVD set include nine performance tracks called Live In Berlin.
Matador Records will be releasing The Third Eye Centre from Belle and Sebastian in several forms that include CD (digipak with hard-bound book), LP, and Deluxe Edition LP. The Third Eye Centre is a collection set that gathers 19 non-LP b-sides, rarities, and collectibles. The Deluxe LP set will be issued in 180g vinyl. Belle and Sebastian will release a new album sometime in 2014.

The new album from Franz Ferdinand will be released on August 27 in several forms that includes 180g vinyl LP (with DD rights), a 2CD Limited Deluxe Edition (with a thirteen track live set, Live At Konk Studio), standard CD with original ten tracks, and DD. The new album is called Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.
New West Records will release Stay Reckless from Austin Lucas on August 27. The 11-track album will be issued on CD, and 180g vinyl LP.
On September 3, Captured Tracks plan the LP and CD release of Forever from the Swedish band, Holograms. Forever is the second album from the band.
Friday Music plans the Deluxe Edition of two Bad Company classics (Dangerous Age, 1988; Holy Water, 1990). Both albums do not have Paul Rodgers, nor Boz Burrell. But Ralphs, and Kirke still held the fort pretty well. Both albums will be presented as a single purchase, with each CD containing each album. Each album will come with bonus tracks (“Excited” and the rare 12″ version of “No Smoke Without A Fire”, both from Dangerous Age; and from Holy Water, a rare remix version of “Walk Through Fire”). The 2CD Limited Edition features remastered tracks from the original Atlantic masters. This release begins a Friday Music/Bad Company remaster campaign. This set is scheduled for August 27.
Friday Music will deliver more Elvis Presley goodness with the release of Blue Hawaii on 180g vinyl LP in a gatefold jacket. It is scheduled for August 27.
And finally, at one point I had speculated on the release of a 4CD CSN title. I didn’t know what it might be but now know that it will be a reissue of the 1991 4-disc CSN Box set, which had been remastered and re-released back in 2009. there is still not enough info concerning this re-release but it may simply be a refill of a depleted title. In any case, it is being re-released on August 13.
