The LA Thrash Metal band, Metallica, has forged a solid reputation for being a producer of enduring songs. With a wide following, the band has been able to experiment outside their natural zone (Lulu, a 2011 collaboration with Lou Reed). That’s a feat that not many can pull off. Still, with such classic albums as Kill ‘Em All (1983), Ride The Lightning (1984), Master of Puppets (1986), …And Justice for All (1988), the immensely popular Metallica (or The Black Album) (1991), and the other successful follow-ups, Metallica has ruled the charts with a strong upper hand. Not to mention the acquisitions of nine Grammys, and a shelf full of other notable awards, Metallica has enjoyed a great career as a band.
After some eight years since the release of their last studio album, Death Magnetic (2008), the band has regrouped to record their next studio set, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct. This new album will come with twelve tracks. The first off the album that is currently available to listen to (see below) is “Hardwired”. If you pre-order the album, this track is instantly available as a digital download.
Hardwired…To Self-Destruct is scheduled for release on November 18. A Deluxe Edition of the album will add in more music than the official release of the album. I’m certain a vinyl LP edition of the album will be issued as well.
