Klaus Nomi, one of the early ’80s class acts, got his go-ahead as an extra on David Bowie’s SNL 1979 set. But it was his blend of New Wave and Opera that gave him his eclectic and unique style discoverable in two brilliant and immensely enjoyable RCA-issued studio albums. Klaus Nomi only had the chance to release two albums as he died in 1983 at the young age of 39. today, his legacy is well looked after. Recently, Omnivore Records released several boxed sets of remixes.
On August 28, Omnivore Recordings will reissue the albums that cemented Nomi‘s legacy. Klaus Nomi (1981), and Simple Man (1982) will make their reappearance in new sets that will fill the market with hard to get titles. Klaus Nomi, the original 1981 debut, has ten songs that include the unique cover of Lou Christie’s “Lightning Strikes”, “You Don’t Own Me”, and “Total Eclipse”.

The 1982 Simple Man set contained the title track, and the charming cover of “Ding Dong”, the song from The Wizard of Oz.

Both Klaus Nomi, and Simple Man will be offered on CD, DD, and vinyl LP.
