In 1968 through 1970, Tyrannosaurus Rex cut their teeth on the merge of Folk/Rock and fantastical lyrics. But by the end of 1970, the band shortened their name to T. Rex and issued the new version debut known as T. Rex in a sort of introductory manner. With the music emerging on that album, the next was the winner! Electric Warrior helped to entrance a new audience with Glam Rock and delivered the timeless track of “Get It On”. The album itself was a change of style for the band and set the tone for the rest of the career of Marc Bolan and T. Rex. There were four Tyrannosaurus Rex sets, and four peak period T. Rex studio sets (T. Rex – 1970, Electric Warrior – 1971, The Slider – 1972, Tanx – 1973). Marc Bolan released four more new sets during his shortened lifespan (Light Of Love [1974], and Bolan’s Zip Gun [1975] were essentially the same album with Zip Gun containing 3 more songs for a UK audience). The music was still quite good but with the changing tastes of audiences, the stamp of T. Rex was fading away.
On September 25, Edsel Records (Demon Music Group UK) will continue their T. Rex love with a 5CD Box to be titled T. Rex: 1974-1977. This box will include the remastered studio sets from the band’s last three studio issues (Bolan’s Zip Gun, Futuristic Dragon [1976], Dandy In The Underworld [1977]). In addition, there are two disc filled with bonus tracks that run the course of previously unreleased takes, alternates, outtakes, remixes, and more, 43 extras in all. A 24-page booklet with photos and a new essay is packed in.

T. Rex: 1974-1977 will be issued on 5CD, and DD.
