Nektar, the German band that got its start back in the early years of Rock (1969) released their first set – Journey To The Centre Of The Eye in 1971. From there, the stage was set for their creative style that gave us classics like A Tab In The Ocean (1972), Remember The Future (1973), and Down to Earth (1974). After this period, musical interests began to change and gave bands like Nektar a rough way to go. But their last charting set, Magic Is A Child (1977) kept the US audiences interested.
On June 26, Esoteric Recordings (Cherry Red UK) will reissue Magic Is a Child in a 3CD package that will deliver the original nine tracks, a small collection of bonus tracks (Demo/Alternates/Early Version/Live) on the first CD, and two 1977 live shows to fill the other two CDs. Those shows are from their Hofstra University set at Long Island in October 1977, and The Community Theater at Phoenix in November of 1977. The album has been newly remastered from the set’s original tapes. The included booklet will feature new notes.
Magic Is A Child will be reissued on CD and DD.
