Eric Clapton is no stranger to us, nor do I need to elaborate in any length on his contributions to Rock and Roll. They’re there. If you’re unaware, then it’s time to hit some kind of history site and get up to speed. But regardless, his part is immense even if we bicker with each other about which was worthy, and which may have a lesser impact.
On January 24, Eric Clapton will release a new album to be refereed to as Meanwhile. Released via Surf Dog Records, Meanwhile will be a bit of a catchall issue that will revisit some of his previously released tracks, and six never before heard songs for a total of 14 tracks. Some of these tracks feature collaborations with Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, and Bradley Walker.
Meanwhile has been released digitally on streaming services on October 4 but will e issued on CD and 2LP pressed on blue vinyl in January.
As for me, I’m waiting on 50th Anniversary sets, particularly No Reason to Cry, which as its 50th coming up in 2026. Meanwhile…461 Ocean Blvd languished, and There’s One In Every Crowd has its own in 2025.
