Chicago Transit Authority (later shortened to Chicago) drew in fans right and left…and center when they released their debut album, Chicago Transit Authority back in 1969. That magnificent album generated four solid hits that include “Beginnings”, “Does Anyone Really Know What Time It Is?”, “Questions 67 and 68”, and “I’m A Man”. It also sold well over several million copies out of the gate. Over time, Chicago released more than 40 albums, some of them ‘best of’ collections, live sets, and studio sets. They shone brightly on the stage, however, and the proof exists with their 4th release, Chicago At Carnegie Hall having gone to million copies sales.
On September 27, the great folks at Rhino Entertainment revisit Chicago in a live setting with the upcoming release of Chicago At The John F. Kennedy Center For The Performing Arts – Washington, D.C. (09/16/1971). The new live set will feature 26 performance tracks. You can hear the “Saturday In The Park” live track from this set below. Most tracks found on this set are previously unreleased.
Live 1971 will be issued on 3CD, DD, and 4LP black vinyl press.
