Cat Stevens released 11 albums in 11 years from from point of 1967 through 1978. All albums performed well and most gave up singles that charted well. His peak period was from 1970 with Mona Bone Jakon, his debut for Island Records and A&M Records. By Tea For the Tillerman, Cat Stevens was ‘top ‘o the heap’ with sales of over 5 million worldwide and two singles that included “Wide World”. From there, he issued 6 more top-selling albums. One was those was Foreigner. Foreigner was issued in 1973 and yielded the extended “Foreigner Suite” and the single, “The Hurt”. It was followed in 1974 with the popular Buddha And The Chocolate Box, which presented “Oh Very Young” as a single.
On July 26, Island/A&M Records will reissue Foreigner for the fan. The set will be released on CD, DD, and two colors of vinyl to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Foreigner. The LPs will be offered on standard black 180g-weight vinyl, and a Limited Edition 180g-weight blue vinyl package that will include a lyric card insert.
