There is little to the history that can be added for ANYTHING that are Beatles. And so we don’t even try. But it is wonderful to hear that revered Beatles titles get the latest in technology where audio upgrades are involved. It’s even better when bonus tracks get introduced that gives us a look at the creative processes of the four. One of the better loved albums from The Beatles is Revolver. And so it’s good news to learn that Revolver is being given “the treatment” with the involvement of Giles Martin who has worked on previous Beatles projects.
On October 28, Parlophone will give us access to a 5CD Revolver box that will gift a brand new 2022 Stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell. In addition, 2 CDs will be filled with 31 bonus sessions tracks, 1 CD with a Mono transfer of Revolver from the original tapes, and the fifth CD acting as an EP giving us 4 extra tracks in Stereo and Mono mixes from the original 4-track tapes. The new mix will also be presented in a Dolby Atmos mix for DD. A 100-page book is planned for the box.
The new Revolver reissue will be offered in the previously mentioned 5CD Deluxe Box, a 2CD set, a Special Edition CD package, DD, and versions of vinyl LP that include a picture disc, a 4LP Box with a 7″ vinyl EP, and a single LP Edition.
