Budgie, the UK band that walked through the ’70s, issued a steady stream of studio set from 1971 through 1982. Their last album from that era was Deliver Us From Evil (RCA) and had captured the ears of the still interested UK audience. They were, unfortunately, only moderately respected in the US markets but they did have fans there. From the release of their self-titled debut in 1971 until their closure in 1982, Budgie left a legacy of heavy metal that still represents the time as well as any band.
On September 25, strawberry Records (Cherry Red UK) will do their utmost in remembering Budgie, namely within the scope of 1973 through 1975, where they recorded for MCA Records. The 3CDs of this set will contain three MCA studio sets (Never Turn Your Back On A Friend – 1973, In for The Kill! – 1974, Bandolier – 1975), and throw in five bonus tracks from the last two in the set. It will be rounded out by a celebratory booklet. The set will be known as Running From My Soul – The MCA Years 1973-1975.
