Since their first album release (From Genesis To Revelation – 1969), the UK band, Genesis, has evolved from serious progressive music to the pop stars they were during the ’80s. The band itself delivered solo quality with Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins (who was not on the first few Genesis albums), Steve Hackett, Tony Banks, and Mike Rutherford, all who have enjoyed as much attention as later era Genesis had. But it was their first album that introduced this band to the record-buying public, whom are extraordinarily difficult to please, but Genesis seem to have a solid knack for it.
On October 9, Esoteric Recordings (Cherry Red UK) will revisit this classic debut set from Genesis known as From Genesis To Revelation with a fully stuffed box with the original Stereo and Mono recordings remastered, as well as a newly remixed Stereo version of the original album. there will also be a strong collection of demos, rough mixes, and outtakes included on a CD. In addition to those gems, there is an included Blu-ray disc filled with an Atmos mix, a 5.1 Surround Sound mix, and a hi-res Stereo mix of the album all presented as 96kHz/24-bit mixes. A video piece is included on that BD. An expansive 68-page book will be packed in along with a new essay and plenty of photos and notes.
This new reissue of From Genesis To Revelation will be offered in the above described 4CD/BD box, a 2CD offering that presents the album in the new Stereo remix, as well as the original mix remastered andthe four outtakes bonus tracks, DD, 2 vinyl 2LP variations that include Limited Edition clear vinyl presses with the new stereo mix and a 12″ EP featuring the four previously unreleased bonus tracks, and the exact same LP content but pressed on black vinyl.
