Back in the ’70s, you couldn’t turn on any radio station without an Al Green song filtering through the speakers. His brand of Soul gave a special blend to the style of R&B that was popular in the ’60s and ’70s. And from 1972 through 1974, Al Green was strongly prevalent with a string of hits that included “I’m Still In Love With You”, “Let’s Stay Together”, “Here I Am (Come And Take Me)”, “Take Me To the River”, and “I’m Tired Of Being Alone”. Those songs and others from his collection are timeless songs.
On January 16, Fat Possum Records digitally released a 4-track EP from Al Green called To Love Somebody. On this set, you’ll hear unique Al Green-voiced covers of four immensely popular tracks from years past that include “To Love Somebody” (Bee Gees), “Perfect Day” (Lou Reed), which is an unreleased version of his 2023 issue of the same song, “Everybody Hurts” (R.E.M.), and “I Found A Reason” (The Velvet Underground).

For now, there are no physical releases of this EP but it can be heard by streaming on your favorite platform, or purchased for Digital Download (DD).
