The Smashing Pumpkins, formed in Chicago in the late ’80s, with their debut album released in 1991 to resounding success, was a voice of grunge, gothic, and harder-edged Rock. By the time of their signing to Virgin Records, their fame shot up even further with Siamese Dreams selling many millions of units worldwide. With their third set, Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness, they sold more than many bands around them.
On November 21, The Smashing Pumpkins will celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Mellon Collie and The Infinite Sadness with multi-disc sets that will provide a remaster of the original album and append to it a collection of previously unreleased tour live music from 1996. The booklet will deliver new liner notes from Billy Corgan.
This 30th Anniversary title will be issued on a 4CD set, a 4 SHM-CD set, DD, and two LP packages that will include a 6LP Deluxe set with an autographed lithograph, and a 6LP package with a hardbound book, a tarot card set, and 7 lithographs.
