One of the most interesting bands rom the ’70s were T. Rex. Transitioned from Tyrannosaurus Rex, the band gravitated to a more harder-edged Glam/Rock style from its previous Psych/Folk style blends and created a boom that led to the defining hit, “Get It On”. Once there, a string of follow-up albums kept the band fans happy until changing tastes led fans elsewhere. But today, a long-lasting legacy has kept the band and its music alive well into a quarter of the new century, a full fifty-plus years after their recordings.

On December 12, Edsel Records (Demon Music UK) will assemble and reissue the entirety of the T.Rex catalog (none from Tyrannosaurus Rex) beginning with the self-titled “debut” and ending with Dandy In The Underworld. This encapsulates a period of 8 years and delivered 9 albums, not including Billy Super Duper. (For this set, the US/Canada issue of 1974’s Light Of Love via Casablanca Records is NOT included.)

The Box set is titled The Studio Albums: 1970-1977. It will feature 8 classic titles all bundled into one collection with original album covers. A booklet is packed in with new notes and complete lyrics. This title will be released in an 8CD Box, and an 8LP (half black/half color vinyl) Box. Ten bonus single tracks will be included appropriate to their timeframe and album allocation releases.
