Tears For Fears made their indelible mark on the scroll sheets of Rock with a powerful album of declarations and anthems. The album is Songs From The big Chair, which followed their successful debut, The Hurting (1983). They did not anticipate the wave of acceptance of their second album, which sold upwards of 20 million copies worldwide. Songs From The Big Chair housed four huge singles from its collection of 8 timeless tracks. Its place in history is firmly cemented.
On November 14, Tears For Fears celebrate the 40 years of the album with a 3CD Box that features a remaster of the album. There will be bonus tracks, single edits, remixes, B-sides, and alternate mixes along with all other kinds of revisitations.

This set will be issued on 3CD Box, DD, an exclusive picture disc, and a transparent red vinyl 2LP package.

What is the point of this 40th anniversary set…apart from being just a cash grab? The songs on these CDs are the exact same songs, in the exact same sequence, as the first 3 discs from the 30th anniversary box set which was released in 2014. The 30th anniversary set had 4 CDs & 2 DVDs. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if they just printed the 3 discs from the 30th anniversary set and put them in the 40th anniversary one. There’s absolutely nothing new in this set, and therefore no reason to get it.
I understand your frustration. The only aside is that these are newly remastered (for those that like that).
