The Waterboys have continually released excellent music for fans of their style. Fronted by Mike Scott, who alone, has powered The Waterboys on all of their album releases since 1983. Their two explosive sets, A Pagan Place (1984), and This Is The Sea (1985) set the stage for their subsequent 12 albums. And no, we won’t forget their great debut, the self-titled 1983 issue. Throughout it all, Mike Scott has given The Waterboys the lyrical and musical bursts that has powered them through all those albums. Their last was All Souls Hill, issued in 2022.

On April 4, Mike Scott and his Waterboys will release their newest album, Life, Death And Dennis Hopper. This interestingly titled new album will explore the life and times of the enigmatic Dennis Hopper in 25 tracks. The album will look at each of Hopper’s wives as inclusions to the span of Dennis Hopper, each with their own song. The album will feature collaborative work with Bruce Springsteen, Fiona Apple, Barny Fletcher and Sugarfoot, Taylor Goldsmith, Anana Kaye, and Steve Earle. The new album will be issued via the ever evolving Sun Records.

A track from the album, “Hopper’s On Top” can be heard below (and on the front page).

Life, Death And Dennis Hopper will be issued on CD, DD, and 2LP burnt-color vinyl pressing.
