For several decades, Camel delighted their listening fanbase with classic after classic. Some are adopted from most; others a matter of taste. But for some, there wasn’t much the band could do wrong especially during the Peter Bardens years. Camel was – and still are -navigated by founder Andy Latimer throughout the catalog and touring lifespan of the band. For fourteen studio albums, Camel stayed cemented into the hearts of Camel fans.

On March 28, the grand staff at Esoteric Recordings (a division of Cherry Red UK) continues to delight Camel fans with two newly remastered sets that include Pressure Points: Live In Concert (1984), and Nude (1981). Merely a month from March, Esoteric are releasing two other Camel classics in boxed sets that include Monnmadness (1976). and Mirage (1974) (read about those here).

For these two sets (Pressure Points: Live In Concert, Nude), Esoteric will finesse those sets with brand new remastering and pack those new audio upgrades into CDs and Blu-ray discs. The titles will be available in 2CD/BD box sets with booklets that will offer new essays and discovered photos.

For Pressure Points: Live In Concert, Esoteric will include the 2009 remastered reissue that features 16 concert tracks, six more than found on the original 1984 release. Those 16 album audio tracks will be remastered by Ben Wiseman, along with the concert film of the May 11, 1984 show at the Hammersmith Odeon that promoted Stationary Traveller, the 1984 studio set. This particular show had Peter Bardens come out near the end of the set and perform with the band that made up Camel at that point.

For Nude, the album will feature the original newly remastered by Ben Wiseman along with a new Stereo Mix by Stephen W Taylor. In addition to that, there will be a Blu-ray Audio disc with 5.1 Surround and High Resolution Stereo mixes, all by Stephen W Taylor. The 2CD/BD-Audio box will pack in a booklet with a new essay and collected photos.

Both are awesome pickups waiting to join your updated library of Camel titles. I just hope that Esoteric and Cherry Red UK does not forget the brilliance of Rain Dances, I Can See Your House From Here, and Breathless in their updating campaign.
