Andy Summers gave The Police a solid base at guitar during their brief 5-6 year professional span. His guitar offered a New Wave sound that complemented the band during its rise. Apart from The Police, Andy Summers released several solo sets, collaborated with various musicians, and worked on film scores. Over the time with and outside of The Police, Andy Summers remained busy. His last recorded output was Harmonics Of The Night, issued in 2021. It’s nice to see that someone as talented still has an itch to record new music.
On June 21, in almost a surprise issue, Andy Summers will release an 8-track set to be called Vertiginous Canyons. Designed as an “audiovisual snapshot” of photos from his 2023 photobook, the EP will appeal to Police fans, and more specifically to Andy Summers fans.
