The Police began their New Wave/Post-Punk career with Outlandos d’Amour. Issued in late 1978, the album begat three hit singles with “Roxanne”, “Can’t Stand Losing You”, and “So Lonely”. Its follow-up – Regatta de Blanc arrived less than a year later with four more hit singles that included “Message In A Bottle”, and “Walking On The Moon”. For a brief period of five years, The Police released five increasingly best-selling albums before aborting the recording of a sixth album, and going on hiatus (or disbanding). Although they resumed a successful tour in 2007 and 2008 before breaking up again, seemingly for good. Their final album, Synchronicity, sold well over 15 million copies, eight million of those in the States. It delivered “Every Breath You Take” and “King Of Pain” as part of its resilient package.
On July 26, The Police via UMe/Geffen/A&M Records will celebrate Synchronicity with an immersive and definitive 6CD boxed set that will provide the original album remastered from the original tapes, non-album tracks, B-sides, unreleased tracks, demos, and a collection of live performance tracks to create the hefty box for this album. Among the collection will be a 60-page hardbound book, and four art prints.
Synchronicity will be reissued for this 6CD Box, a 2CD set (with the first two discs of the box), DD, 4LP package (without CD5 and CD6 content), and a collectible picture disc LP.
