David Gilmour was an essential part of the successes that Pink Floyd enjoyed during it long and fruitful career. His contributions to the band lasted through 14 albums, two more than Roger Waters had. His stylistic guitar sound was a strong brand that gave Pink Floyd an even more unique sound. On his own, David Gilmour released four solo efforts that included the extraordinary self-titled debut in 1978, its follow-up in 1984 that is About Face, and two others (On An Island – 2006, Rattle That Lock – 2015).
On September 6, David Gilmour will add to his solo legacy with Luck And Strange, a new solo set that will feature nine new songs, with 2 bonus tracks on the CD, and 4 bonus tracks on a BD-Audio set. The LP will only feature the nine tracks.
Luck And Strange will be released on CD, DD, LP, and BD-Audio. The BD-Audio will contain tracks mixed in Dolby Atmos, and hi-resolution Stereo. A single from the album – “The Piper’s Call” is planned for release on April 26, when the link below will go live. A Limited Edition Translucent Glass Bottle vinyl package will be offered at the David Gilmour website (here).
