David Bowie exemplified a music that was out of the norm in the early part of his career, but as his fame grew, so did his chameleonic style of play. By 1972, the kind of music heard on Ziggy Stardust was the epitome of the changing music of the time; Bowie just happened to be at the epicenter of it, perhaps even the rudder of it. With Ziggy Stardust, his display of theater and its accompanying style of Rock made an epic that would become timeless. Now, over fifty years later, Ziggy Stardust (or The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars) is remembered as one of Rock’s best!

On June 14, the Bowie foundation will celebrate the timelessness of Ziggy Stardust with a massive package that will fully display the brilliance of the music. The Box will contain, in addition to the 2012 remastered original album, 29 previously unreleased tracks. Those are comprised of demos, rehearsals, live tracks, and more. The box itself boasts 5CDs and 1BD-Audio with the 2012 remaster in 96kHz/24-bit form, the 2003 DTS-HD Master 5.1 Surround version, singles, outtakes, and alternate versions, and the entire Waiting In The Sky (Before The Starman Came To Earth), which was an alternate version of Ziggy Stardust with the songs in different sequence and 4 outtakes that never made the released album.

The Box – named Rock ‘n’ Roll Star! – will pack in two books, one a 112-page book completely filled with photos and liner notes, and a 36-page reproduction of Bowie’s original and personal notebook surrounding the arriving album.

This set will be truncated and made available as a Half-Speed Mastered for RSD on April 20, AND a single LP to be titled Rock N Roll Star! that features a collection of alternate takes and mixes.
