Steve Hunter, lovingly referred to as The Deacon, has played with the likes of Lou Reed, Alice Cooper, Mitch Ryder, Peter Gabriel, David Lee Roth, Julian Lennon, Jack Bruce, and other notables. He also played that stunning opening solo to Aerosmith‘s rendition of “Train Kept A Rollin'”, uncredited. For solo work, Steve Hunter has released 6 studio sets and 1 live album. Best known for his contributions and collaborative work with others, Steve Hunter still gave us plenty of personal work as well to remember.
On February 14, Steve Hunter returns with a new album, The Deacon Speaks. This album will offer five new compositions, and five cover tracks. Two of the songs are instrumentals. The covers refresh The Rolling Stones (“Waiting On A Friend”), Lou Reed (“Sweet Jane”), Willie Dixon (“Back Door Man”), Bill Withers (“Who Is He And What Is He To You”), and Jimi Hendrix (“Up From The Skies”). The Deacon Speaks follows his 2017 set, Before The Lights Go Out. Renowned producer, Bob Ezrin, who has worked with Steve Hunter extensively, says about this album, “This is a wonderful piece of work”.
The Deacon Speaks will release on CD and DD.
