In the late ’70s, Punk music began a march toward acceptance and change. Its influence toward the New Wave of the late ’70s and early ’80s makes it an essential element of the evolution of Rock music. Chicago began its foray into this emerging style with a band by the name of Skafish. They produced a stunning single “Disgracing The Family Name” b/w “The Work Song” and independently released it via a grassroots system that eventually led to a contract with I.R.S. Records (home of R.E.M., The Police, The Go-Gos, The Stranglers, The Alarm, and other important bands of the time). Skafish produced two albums – Skafish (1980), and Conversation (1983).

Jim Skafish, the inspiration of the band has remastered and re-released the band’s first album recently to excellent results. Conversation has been the same treatment and is now scheduled for reissue on December 29. It will be altered slightly in title to be called Conversation & The Rejects. The entire original album is remastered for this set which also includes two live bonus tracks (with “Sign Of The Cross” from the stage and film of Urgh! A Music War. A collection of tracks that were rejected by I.R.S. for being too edgy are in here as well.

Conversation & The Rejects will be issued on 2CD, DD, and a Limited Collectors Edition (500 copies) 180g-weight 2LP that will feature the set with one LP in Red and one LP in yellow. The 2LP package will provide DD rights. A 40-page booklet is included in all sets with credits, notes, photos, and lyrics.
