Ace Frehley has the legacy lock down on being the original guitar extraordinaire of KISS during their first ten albums, rejoining only briefly for their Psycho Circus set in 1998. Having been out of KISS for a spell, he has released a string of solo sets that include the 1978 solo set that joined the other members dabbling in their own music. He has issued seven solo albums as well as two from Frehley’s Comet. It has been four years since the release of Origins, Vol. 2.
On February 23, Ace Frehley returns with what is expected to be a strong album set to be called 10,000 Volts. The new album will contain 11 new songs, much of which is considered a bit of a middle finger to Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, who have spoken ill of Frehley for some time. The title track, “10,000 Volts” is currently in release and can be heard below. Mnrk Heavy is the releasing label.
10,000 Volts will be released on CD, DD, and four versions of vinyl that include standard black, 180g-weight Red and Blue Transparent color with Silver and Black Splatter, a limited edition 180g-weight Glass Clear with Red, Blue, and Silver Splatter (all 1730 copies are now sold out), and an exclusive to Mnrk Music label store Limited Edition of 180g-weight Silver Metallic color with an alternate cover (all 750 copies are now sold out).
It’s nice to have you back, Ace.
