What can we say about Joni Mitchell that isn’t already known or said elsewhere more eloquently than I can say? Her part in the overall essay on Rock is substantial and essential. In her 19 studio releases, she has released more than a generous handful of well-known hits, many of which are remembered today, some 50 years later. These include “Both Sides Now”, “Help Me”, “Big Yellow Taxi”, and others in a strong list. There are two volumes of collection archives currently in release, and the third is on the way.

On October 6, Rhino Entertainment continues to dive into the vaults to mine for tracks of all kinds – demos, alternate versions, and live performance tracks. The findings will be assembled in Volume Three of the Joni Mitchell Archives. Over 5CDs, there will be a collection of 96 tracks that will include beautiful surprises of all kinds and a look at the creative process and how it was unveiled to the public. This essential release covers the period from 1972 to 1975. A 40-page booklet is packed in.

Joni Mitchell Archives, Volume 3: The Asylum Years (1972-1975) will be issued in 5CD box, DD, and a truncated 4LP set. Also arriving are four album classics on 180g-weight black-color vinyl LP and scheduled for September 29. These include Ladies Of The Canyon (1970), Court & Spark (1974), Miles Of Aisles – Live [2LP] (1974), and The Hissing of Summer Lawns (1975).

  1. The next four remasters are vinyl only? I should hope they will continue the CD boxes. really getting tired of shelling out $27.00 per piece of vinyl. Hoping this resurgence ends soon. Budget breakers
