In 1969, Hawkwind gave strong space rock music to an growing audience of fans. With several studio sets already in circulation (Hawkwind – 1970, In Search Of Space – 1971, and Doremi Fasol Latido – 1972), Hawkwind recorded and released a popular live album – Space Ritual. The album achieved a Top Ten rating in the UK.
On September 29, Atomhenge Records / Cherry Red UK will reissue Space Ritual with new remastering and a new Stereo mix, and an included 5.1 Surround Sound mix. The 10CD/1BD Box will add in three full live recordings in brand new mixes from the original 16-track tapes. Even better, there will be inclusions of a complete 68-page booklet with new notes and an essay, and a reproduction of the rare Space Ritual tour program poster. All in all, there will be 88 available tracks (not counting the Blu-ray Audio disc), and 18 performance tracks for the 2CD set.
The 50th Anniversary box set of Space Ritual will be issued in a 10CD/1BD Box, a 2CD set, and a 2LP Transparent gatefold vinyl package.
