Simple Minds achieved worldwide stardom with their 1985 breakthrough album, Once Upon A Time. However, parts of the world including the UK, Canada, France, and other Euro countries already knew what the band was about several albums earlier. One of those was New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84) issued in 1982. With that album now a bit over 40 years old, the band opted to perform it in full at Paisley Abbey, located in Paisley, Scotland on October 06, 2022. The show was filmed and broadcast.
On October 27, Simple Minds will release the full show on physical and digital media for the world’s fans to enjoy. The setlist comprises the full album with nine performance tracks exactly as they are placed on the album. The set is being called New Gold Dream: Live From Paisley Abbey.
