The Doors are one of early Rock’s great bands. Embracing a heady mix of Rock and Jazz wrapped in the Psychedelia style of the time, The Doors delivered a small collection of albums and singles, not to mention a healthy dose of controversy in their stage shows. The released six albums in 4 short years as well as 7 highly recognize able singles.
On September 8, Rhino Entertainment digs up several sets of a 1967 San Francisco show on a small stage at The Matrix. The shows ran from March 7 through March 10 and have been heavily bootlegged among Doors fans. This Rhino-released set will feature performance tracks from two dates and 6 sets, 37 tracks in all. The tracks have been remastered from the original source tapes. The set is called Live At The Matrix 1967: The Original Masters.
Live At The Matrix 1967 will be released in Limited quantities on 3CD (21,000 numbered copies), and 5LP (14,000 numbered copies). The 5LP set includes a 7″ bonus single of “Bag’s Groove”. DD is also available.
