Camel Celebrate An Era With A 27CD/5BD Boxed Set – Air Born: The MCA & Decca Years 1973-1984

Formed in the UK in 1971, the band known as Camel went on to influence many bands for decades with their progressive/jazz/rock blend. This band, while never completely ignored, never achieved the accolades they should have. Nevertheless, Camel proliferated as well as it could have releasing fourteen extraordinary sets that include The Snow Goose, Rain Dances, and Breathless. Camel was filled with talent that included mainstay Andy Latimer, Peter Bardens (now gone from us), Andy Ward, and Mel Collins, amid a stellar group of other musicians that helped Camel become the band that it is. It’s time for a spectacular remembrance!

On May 26, The 50 years of Camel will be warmly remembered with an intensely massive Boxed set that will feature many of their classic era albums in newly remastered form. For those counting, there will be 27CDs that contain albums through Stationary Traveller (1984), and 5 Blu-ray discs that will feature 5.1 mixes of Camel, Mirage, The Snow Goose, Moonmadness, and Nude (c’mon guys, no Rain Dances?) as well as promo videos and live performance tracks, and the live film called Pressure Points. The 27CDs also contain live performance tracks from a variety of sources, and bonus tracks. The Box is being called Air Born: The MCA & Decca Years 1973-1984.

Air Born will pack in a nice book that will offer an essay, photos, and as much as you want to know about Camel. A poster will be added to the set.
