Ultravox Classic – Quartet To Get 6CD/BD-Audio, Half Speed 2LP, and 8LP Box Sets

Ultravox continues with their restoration project by doing the Deluxe works on their third Midge Ure-era album – Quartet. Released in 1982, the album was produced by George Martin (of Beatles fame) rather than the usual work relationship with Conny Plank. Quartet was rewarded with four singles and did respectably well on the charts.

On May 5, Quartet will be reissued as a 6CD/BD-Audio Box that will bring together new Steven Wilson mixes (Stereo and 5.1 Surround), a collection of single sides, live tracks, unreleased rehearsal tracks, and more. The Box will a 20-page 12″ booklet with the usual goodies expected, a repro of the tour program, and all the discs housed in wallet-styled cardboard. The Box will be 12″ by 12″.

The SW remixes feature 96Khz/24-bit resolution found on the BD-Audio.

There will also be a 2LP Half-Speed Mastered release to be reissued also on May 5. It will present the original 1982 master album on LP1 and the nine collected bonus tracks on LP2. An 8LP Clear Vinyl Box is planned with selected tracks for fit. DD is on the menu as well.
