Cactus was a short-lived band that gained popularity in their internally conflicted super group assembly that included Tim Bogart, and Carmine Appice, both from Vanilla Fudge. The band was intended to include Jeff Beck but it was nixed due to Beck’s auto accident. Regardless, over a two year period, the popular band produced four studio albums before dissolution.
On October 28, Cherry Red via HNE Recordings, will revisit Cactus with an exhaustive 8CD Box. The box will be called Evil Is Going On – The Atco Albums 1970-1972, and will include not only remastered versions of their 4 Atco Records releases and a small collection of recorded bonus tracks, but also the two volumes of Fully Unleashed: The Live Gigs over 4 CDs. A booklet will be packed in.
