Before the Slade you know and love were known as Slade, they were known as Ambrose Slade. They soon employed a skinhead look to capture the attention of the toughs of London. They eventually shortened their name to Slade and the rest is history. As Ambrose Slade, they have one release on album, known as Beginnings, which was issued in 1969. In America, the album was issued as Ballzy.
On April 22, BMG will continue their Slade vinyl reissue campaign with the color vinyl pressing of Ballzy (in an interesting departure of their usual use of UK covers and titles for these vinyl reissues). Ballzy will be released in a transparent blue color vinyl edition as an indie exclusive reissue.
