SACD as a format never really disappeared although it’s been resigned to the niche category. But if you’re an Ultra HD fan, SACDs are highly collectible for the intimacy they produce with the beloved music they hold.

Electric Light Orchestra as a band created music that were depthfully artful works and definitely achieves high clarity the more the music is highlighted by the quality of SACD. Their 1974 album, Eldorado, was the first by the band to go platinum in sales and designation. Their previous three albums were revisited once Eldorado released “Can’t Get It Out Of My Head” and “Boy Blue” as singles to help elevate the album and band.

With that, it’s great news to discover that Mofi (who is on a grand reissue tear lately) will reissue Eldorado in several high-fidelity formats that include SACD, 180g-weight 45RPM 2LP, and 33RPM 1LP remasters. These are joint ventures with Legacy Recordings and Mobile Fidelity. All vinyl sets will be pressed on MoFi’s proprietary SuperVinyl at the RTI pressing facility.

The Eldorado SACD is scheduled for an April release, while the 1LP is planned for March. The 2LP 45RPM box is planned for September 2022. Preorder for SACD, 1LP, and 2LP.
