Rush is Rush! Over the time of their career, they have released 19 best-selling studio albums along with five best=selling Live albums. Not many bands can lay claim to that kind of popularity over the extent of a long timeline. One of their classic, Moving Pictures, was released in 1981 selling more than four million copies worldwide. In 2021, it was the album’s 40th Anniversary.
On April 15, Universal will help Rush celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Moving Pictures with an expansive 3CD/1BD-Audio Deluxe box (and a separately available 5LP 180g-weight vinyl box with Half-Speed Mastering). The set will provide the original album using the 2015 remaster as well as 2 CDs of previously unreleased live content that are newly mixed for this package. The entire March 25, 1981 show at the Maple Leaf Garden in Toronto is included as part of the music.
The BD-Audio disc will supply newly remixed 5.1 Surround versions that include Dolby Atmos, Dolby True HD 5.1, and DTS HD Master Audio 5.1. In addition, a Stereo PCM of the original is here, too. On the BD-Audio will also be four videos: a new video for “YYZ”, and three remastered promo videos for “Tom Thumb”, “Limelight”, and “Vital Signs”.
A 44-page hard-bound book is packed in with photos, notes, essays, and more. Bonus swag will be included like Neal Peart-branded drumsticks, two metal picks, tour program replica, a poster replica, a replica ticket, a 3D lenticular lithograph, luggage tag, and more – much more.
