Longtime Metallica guitarist, Kirk Hammett, entered into the ranks of the band just after the departure of Dave Mustaine. Hammett joined the band before any albums were recorded and therefore is featured in all of the albums. After a bit of time off (Covid lockdown, hiatus) for Metallica, it stands to reason that a desire to get busy would be evidenced by some. Kirk Hammett is no exception.
On April 23, Kirk Hammett will release his debut EP, Portals. It will contain 4 tracks, all instrumentals. It will release via the Metallica’s own label, Blackened Recordings.
Portals will be issued on CD, DD, and vinyl LP in Ocean Blue color (and a DD card). Portals will only be available at Indie shops, and the Metallica web shop.
