With a mass array of 50th Anniversaries popping up involving many classics, it’s nice to see the first fruits of 2022 with a 50th Anniversary Edition set from the Frank Zappa estate. Fillmore East 1971 was issued in 1971 and featured a strongly truncated set of 12 tracks. Needless to say, the world was enthralled with Frank Zappa and the album charted well.
On March 18, Zappa Records will release a compiled 8CD Box that contains the complete four sets of the two night run at the Fillmore East. As a bonus inclusion, there are three tour stops that include the Rainbow Theater (London – December 10, the State Farm Show Arena (Harrisburg, PA – June 3), and Watres Armory (Scranton, PA – June 1). An exciting inclusion features the John Lennon/Yoko Ono assisted encore of the last show. The set is called The Mothers 1971.
The Mothers 1971 will be packed into a box with a special booklet. Also, a 3LP 50th Anniversary package of 180g-weight vinyl with the original album as well as two LPs of bonus mixes. The set will also be made available as Digital Download (DD).
