The Cult with mainstays Billy Duffy (guitars), and vocalist Ian Astbury released the band’s first album, Dreamtime, in 1984 via Beggar’s Banquet. It caught the appreciable ears of UK fans and gave their follow-up, Love (1985) a jump on on the charts in several markets including the US and Canada. But it was their hard-charging Electric (1987) that elevated the band to superstar status earning multi-platinum status in several countries (interestingly still only Gold in the UK). By 1994, the band had gained worldwide popularity. They released their 6th album, the self-titled The Cult and not long afterwards, The Cult called it quits. They reformed in 1999 and released Between Good and Evil in 2001. The Cult again went on hiatus and reformed for the release of Born Into This, their 8th album, issued in 2007.

On October 15, Cherry Red UK will reissue Born Into This with a 2CD set that will feature a second CD with five bonus tracks, Those will include 3 demos and two outtakes. Born Into This will be released on CD only.
