During the ’70s, Yes had ruled the airwaves in a strong fashion. After a spell, the band decided to explore their own musical boundaries with a solo set. One of those was the best-selling solo debut for Jon Anderson, Olias of Sunhillow. Released in 1976, this album entered the UK Top 10 and fueled a stronger respect for the artists of Yes.
On March 26, Esoteric Recordings UK (of Cherry Red) will release an expanded CD/DVD Edition of the classic Olias of Sunhillow album. The album will be newly remastered for this release and will include a DVD of the original album in hi-res 96kHz/24-bit Stereo and newly up-mixed 5.1 Surround.
The included illustrated booklet will feature a new interview with Jon Anderson, as well as new essay of the album and its influence. The art has been fully restored for this release.
I have always wondered how this would have sounded as a full-fledged Yes effort.
