Bob Dylan Release 50th Anniversary Collection 3CD Box, 1970

As with all performers that have a giant collection of studio works in the vaults somewhere, it’s always nice to revisit some of those. That’s especially true from great performers of the past and their unreleased songs and recorded takes that never made the cut for any album. Bob Dylan is certainly one of those performers that have much that was not shared from the past. Some of those include the singular session with George Harrison on May 1 of 1970 that created nine previously unreleased tracks. But there are others.

On February 26, Legacy Recordings will release a 3CD 50th Anniversary Box that will bring together a collection of 74 takes from multiple sessions. The set will be known as 1970 and is highly anticipated in the Bob Dylan fan universe. This set will feature previously unreleased songs from the Self-Portrait, and New Morning albums. The entire session with George Harrison is featured on this set.

1970 will be issued in an 8-panel digipak package and will feature liner notes and other goodies. 1970 joins the previous 50th Anniversary Collection sets of 1963, and 1969.
