The Grateful Dead needs no introduction. So none shall be given. But it is notable that the band delivered many a great albums that delivered via Warner Brothers Records, Arista, and their own label, Grateful Dead Records (via United Artists). Their first album, The Grateful Dead, issued in 1967. By 1970, hey were five deep with the release of Workingman’s Dead. It just so happens that 2020 represents the 50th year anniversary of Workingman’s Dead.
On July 10, a 3CD 50th Anniversary package of Workingman’s Dead will be released, along with a limited edition picture disc (10,000 copies) vinyl LP package. All songs from the original album will be newly remastered. The 3CD edition adds an unreleased concert to the reissue (Live at the Capitol Theatre, Port Chester, NY – February 21, 1971). Barnes & Noble is offering an exclusive blue vinyl edition of this newly remastered work.
