Since 1977, the LA Punk-era band, X, has delivered a strong set of albums that include their Slash Records-released 1980 debut, Los Angeles, and their subsequent six issues. To date, the first four are revered as classics representing the era of punk music. Although they were somewhat short-lived as a phenomenon, they left behind a solid legacy of music.
Recently, Fat Possum Records have acquired the band’s first four albums that include Los Angeles (1980), Wild Gift (1981), Under The Big Black Sun (1982), and More Fun In The New World (1983). The intent is to remaster each of these classics and reissue them for the fans.
Thus far, Fat Possum hasn’t released any expected dates of reissue, or plans to include anything other than the original tracks remastered. But I promise to keep an eye on on the information. All four classic albums are expected to be reissued by the end of 2018 (so…fourth quarter, given that we’re burning out the days of the third).
I’m assuming that vinyl LPs will be included as Fat Possum delivers on those formats.
YES!!
X is currently undertaking a US tour. (If I still lived in Costa Mesa, CA. I’d have already seen their recent OC show at the Pacific Amphitheater!)
