British heavy metal has been as viable an option as the US heavy metal bands from the ’80s on through today (The earlier periods were still quite embryonic to make distinctions). One of the UK metal bands is Saxon, who still releases music today under the guidance of original members, Biff Byford, and Paul Quinn. Their first album was the self-titled debut issued in 1979, and their most recent, Thunderbolt, issued in February of 2018. Their twenty-two studio albums and their assorted live sets are indicators that their audience is still loyal.
On May 25, three more expanded reissues of Saxon sets will hit the market on CD, DD, and vinyl LP. All CDs and LPs will contain the previous 2009 remasters of the original albums. The LP sets will contain splatter designed vinyl. Each set will present 24-page booklets with lyrics, notes, photos, and more. The new reissues are:
